Dawntreader Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm focused on investing in software, Internet, and digital media companies. The core Dawntreader team has invested together since the formation of their first fund in 1998. Dawntreader Ventures currently manages two venture capital funds totaling approximately $270 million focused on primarily early-stage information technology.

Dawntreader Fund I is a $20 million venture capital fund with successful exits that include GoToMyPC (acquired by Citrix Systems, Nasdaq: CTXS), Answers.com (IPO, Nasdaq: ANSW), LivePerson (IPO, NasdaqSC: LPSN), Flashbase (acquired by DoubleClick, Nasdaq: DCLK), and iPrint (IPO, Nasdaq: IPRT).

Dawntreader Fund II is a $250 million venture capital fund with exits including MortgageIT (IPO, NYSE: MHL), Moreover Technologies (acquired by VeriSign, Nasdaq: VRSN), InterSAN (acquired by Finisar, Nasdaq: FNSR), and Colloquis (acquired by Microsoft, Nasdaq: MSFT).

The Dawntreader name comes from the boat in CS Lewis' The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Book 5 in the Chronicles of Narnia Series. In it, the main characters sail on the Dawn Treader from charted waters to uncharted territory in search of a magical kingdom.

BlueStream Ventures
