Company’s new location-based mobile business application among top three “emerging technologies” in enterprise healthcare
MINNEAPOLIS — Apr. 1, 2009 — Gearworks, a leading provider of location-based mobile business applications, today announced its OnCare by Gearworks™ mobile application was named a finalist in the 4th Annual CTIA Emerging Technology “E-Tech” Awards.
OnCare by Gearworks™ is a location-based mobile business application specifically designed to enable home healthcare and hospice organizations to increase productivity, ensure compliance and improve patient outcomes. Developed using Gearworks' Appmosphere™ mobile application delivery platform, OnCare optimizes the management of care providers in the field and allows organizations to focus on delivering quality patient care.
“It’s gratifying to have our new OnCare by Gearworks mobile application recognized as a finalist for this prestigious industry award,” said Todd Krautkremer, president and chief executive officer for Gearworks. “The home healthcare and hospice industry is facing significant growth, a scarcity of skilled labor and increased governmental and private insurance reporting and regulation. These factors create an imperative for agencies to deploy solutions like OnCare to increase the efficiency of their mobile care providers while reducing expenses and improving visit documentation and compliance.”
OnCare by Gearworks is an on-demand, Web and mobile application solution deployable across leading wireless carrier networks and mobile devices, including feature phones, smartphones and PDAs. It provides out-of-the-box value for small agencies with limited office support resources, yet is fully customizable to meet the needs of larger organizations in terms of mobile application menus, forms and care plan workflows. Additionally, OnCare supports HL7 protocol for integration into leading industry back-office applications, including McKesson, Delta, SunCoast and Allscripts. OnCare is the first member of Gearworks’ OnSeries of customizable, location-based mobile business applications that are designed to meet the requirements of specific industry verticals and based on the company’s Appmosphere™ platform.
The CTIA E-Tech Awards program is designed to give industry recognition and exposure to the best wireless products and services in the areas of Consumer, Enterprise and Network technology. This year, nearly 300 applications were submitted and reviewed by a panel of recognized members of the media, industry analysts and executives. Products are judged on innovation, functionality, technological importance, implementation and overall “wow” factor.
Winners will be announced at the CTIA E-Tech Awards Ceremony held at International CTIA WIRELESS 2009® in Las Vegas on April 2, 2009 at 3:00 PM on the MEX Stage in the South Hall.
