Mobile Device Engineer

Job Description:

Xora is looking for a self-motivated Mobile Software Engineer who is passionate about writing mobile applications and experienced in multiple device platforms. The ideal candidate will not only understand the challenges associated with mobile development but will also have a strong appreciation for the creative thought that it requires.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of mobile software engineers, both in Minnesota, California, and in India, to build, maintain and port applications to Android, Blackberry, BREW, iPhone, J2ME, Windows Mobile platforms.
  • Effectively communicate and provide insight to the challenges associated mobile development.
  • Deliver production ready software on a two week iteration schedule.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
  • Assist QA and Customer Support in investigating device issues.
  • Solve critical production issues with quick turnaround times.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with a lively team, in-house and remote, to foster a creative and dynamic environment.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 1 – 3 years of development experience
  • 1 – 3 years of Java experience
  • 1+ years of C++ experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree of Computer Science
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Preferred:

  • 1+ years of mobile experience with any of the following platforms:
    • Android, Blackberry, BREW, iPhone, J2ME, Windows Mobile
  • 1+ years of C# experience
  • 1+ years of Objective-C experience
  • Experience dealing with remote teams in multiple locations
  • Agile and scrum processes
